About two weeks ago, I posted a posting on my other blog, Forum Nokia Blogs, about accelerometer on Nokia N95 Apparently, Nokia N95 has accelerometer built-in; but it was kept secret. Now after the API is opened to the public, many developers are trying to create cool applications. You can find some of them below.
Before you can install these applications; you need Accelerometer SISX file, which is available from Nokia Research Center web site. Download N95 RD Accelerometer Plug-in package and extract install N95AccelerometerPlugin.sis from the package. For your convenience, I have copied the SISX file to my blog as well (see link below).

NokMote – Selecting menu by moving your device. The final version will be released at the end of December as freeware. For now, you can only see the video
RotateMe – Have a screen rotation effect from portrait to landscape; and vice versa; just like what we have in iPhone. The final version of this application will be released at the end of November as freeware. As NokMote, for now you can see the video.
Light Saber – Have a light-saber sound on your Nokia N95 just like Darth Vader on Star Wars movie. I don’t have the web site of the author (anybody knows?) For now, I just link to Symbian Guru’s blog.

(Sorry currently the link to the SIS file does not work properly on the device. The author has not set the MIME type correctly on his server. For now, you have to download it to your PC and transfer it your device.)
Inclinometer – Install this on your car’s dashboard and ready for an off road experience.
