handson with the feature LG KT770

Being that I’m the ‘at-home correspondent’ for MobileBurn.com again this year, I sent Michael over to the LG booth at the 2009 Mobile World Congress to check out the LG KT770 that they’re hiding over there. Not only was Michael able to get some great hands-on photographs, he also put together a quick video, running through the basic design and features of this secretive smartphone.

As you can see in the photos below, the KT770 is a pretty compact little phone, both thin and sleek. It’s not the smallest in any category, but it still looks rather nice, I think. The top S60 navigational keys (the left/right softkeys and the S60 menu and ‘C’ button) are all touch-sensitive, with the end/send buttons off to the sides of the front of the device. The joystick, apparently, is a spring-loaded unit, similar to ones that LG has used on other, non-S60 cell phones.

In the press photo, we saw a screenshot of an unannounced Facebook application, though it doesn’t appear in this hands-on video, and Michael reports that the LG reps didn’t know much about it, either. Sad, that could really have given LG a leg-up in the S60 arena, for sure.
