Nokia World Conference 2009

The Nokia World Conference 2009, Nokia's 14th, has closed its doors. So… its all done and dusted for another year. The most important points of the event for me is the news of the N97 v2.0 firmware update (more about that later).

Nokia's statement that "Nokia is Not on the Defensive, Nokia is On the Offensive" threw down the gauntlet to other phone manufacturers and those who would have Nokia bury its head within the dust of the  iPhone, that it is a manufacturer, developer, service orientated, customer initiated, phone company that is here, here to stay, here to move forward, here to develop and here to lead where others are to follow.

The most important points of the event for me is the news of the N97 v2.0 firmware update due in October, bringing with it kinetic scrolling throughout all menu services, 25-35mb of  improved internal phone memory configuration and stability improvements.

Along with several new mobile phones, namely the Maemo N900, Nokia X6, X3 and the N97 mini, new versions of ovi maps and nokia messaging along with new services and organisations, Nokia graced us with videos, images and 'how to' information. You have had a taste of some of the videos I have already posted. More is to follow along with numerous articles covering the event. So stay with me, or pop in and out of my blog, over the next few days to keep in touch and on top of the news and information. Bookmark my site via the rss feed reader, facebook or twitter.
