University entrants (traditionally known as freshers) to the University of Central Lancashire are being introduced to a new iPhone App 'freshers'.

The application is set to provide a set of key information such as details and maps of the local area, transport facilities, entertainment, campus facility and gives access to their uni e-mail accounts. Director of Learning Michael Ahern said "the app was developed to help those students who lead very busy lives… it's a different track of reaching students". Students without iPhones are able to access similar information via the internet, laptops and other internet-connected mobiles.
