London will connect via 15 points to MTN’s West Africa Cable System. The undersea cable will run along the African coast this month. The link will bond Internet providers to the servers of Europe increasing the bandwidth availability.
The submarine cables promises to boost internet expansion in Africa, where 9.6% use the web in comparison to 65% of Europeans.
The cable will “go a long way towards catapulting Africa into the digital age,” said Karel Pienaar, managing director for MTN South Africa.
