Berlinmapsters The Arrival

Several of the team had already arrived in Berlin. My flight took off from the UK and completed, landing exactly at the scheduled time on Wednesday, 25 May. I only had to wait a few minutes to meet my counterparts:

Iain (http://doitdifferent.wordpress.com/) and

Serjes (http://www.phonespot.net/)

who I travelled with to the Hotel. A quick race to our rooms to freshen up and we went to the bar to meet the other Berlinmapsters, with Iain excusing himself for an early night.

The rest of the team consisted of:

Micky, (http://www.NokiaDNA.com/) – whom I had met several times previously and who had the biggest hug for me, which is so sweet. It is nice to feel welcomed.

Richard, (http://onlyfoolsmobiles.blogspot.com/) – who I did meet at Nokia World 2010 and somehow had forgotten the experience. I do not know how as he is unforgettable and possess’ a gold-mine of information.

Jen, (http://www.blackphoebe.com/msjen) – who had arrived on a long flight from America so had to excuse herself to get some sleep.

Clinton, (http://zomgitscj.com/) – I can only say WOW. His personality is even bigger than his reputation. He made me laugh non-stop. He was the life and soul of the team and managed to make everyone smile and laugh throughout our time in Berlin. And, last but not least,

Albert, (http://mobilelivingroom.de/) – who completed the team for the evening. Albert knows everything and anything and turned out to be a superb mapster who turned into a guide for our sightseeing exploration during our last day in Berlin.

We spent a late evening relaxing and unwinding in the bar and telling of our escapades re: ash cloud, work commitments, examinations, missing luggage (more on this later), and impulse shopping, read more about the latter here. And of course, being tech, a line-up of the good and great had to be photographed.

 Berlinmapsters The Arrival

Finally, the team began to lose members one by one, as the need for sleep took a hold and breakfast was arranged for 07.20am the following day (Thursday, 26 May

Thursday morning arrived and we travelled to Nokia’s headquarters at Gate 5 where we were met with a few additional Berlinmapsters:

Glen, (http://www.gisuser.com/) – and

Nitin (http://betalabs.nokia.com/)

Oops, I forgot to introduce myself:

Dani, (http://dailymobile.se/) and (http://dani2xll.com/)
