The prodigal son returns with Nokia rebranding of maps.ovi.com to maps.nokia.com
The Ovi brand was released some time ago and products such as Nokia maps was rebranded Ovi. However, the brand and name did not work, leaving people confused as to the strategy behind the move. Return to today and that policy has been overturned and the Nokia brand is back.
You can see from the above that some of the old Ovi legacies still exist. Hopefully that will also be remedied inline with the new Nokia brand.
Granted we know Nokia has a long way to climb back up into the stratosphere of people’s mind but Nokia Maps has long been regarded as maps of superior quality and with many devices it is installed as a free product. Nokia Maps delivers free turn by turn navigation with check-ins, 3D maps and more.
