iPad! Ditch it! Dump it! Bin it! Apple’s ‘i’ Generation of Workaholics!
According to a recent survey, having an Apple iPad makes one work harder.
Seven’s “Generation i” survey found work by iPad owners had increased by 10 percent since Apple’s release of the device.
More interestingly, parts of the survey revealed further news on business iPad owners v non-business iPad owners:
Business iPad owners are more likely than non-business iPad owners to have purchased from the AppStore: Books (29% business users vs 25% of non-business users), Productivity (26% vs 11%), News (19% vs 10%), Travel (13% vs 8%), Utilities (24% vs 14%), Reference (19% vs 14%), and Education (14% vs 9%). In addition, when asked 61% of business iPad users are interested in reading magazines on the iPad, compared to 45% of non-business iPad owners.
Kevin Sutherland, Director of Strategy at Seven,
‘The recent findings from our ‘Generation i’ survey demonstrate that the device is changing the way we work on the move, as commuters choose their iPads over their laptops.”
The Generation i survey doesn’t entirely spell doom for those owning an iPad concerning if one will become a workaholic. Over 40 percent of users indicated they still mainly use the iPad for entertainment and 26 percent said their main use for the iPad was to perform “functional tasks.”
Are you a business iPad owner or a non-business iPad owner ? Do you find you work more now you have an iPad?
