Nokia to succeed Airtel.
Bharti Airtel is to end its five-year commitment sponsorship of the Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament. Nokia is to succeed as the new rival telecommunications sponsor.
The five-year deal was announced by the tournament’s CEO Sundar Raman via his personal Twitter account when he revealed. “Nokia signs up as title sponsor of Champions League Twenty20.”
Further details have yet to be announced. The Airtel partnership was reportedly worth US$8 million per year. The next edition of the competition take place in India from 23 September to 9 October.
