I am one of the most patriotic person of this world. Or so I would like to think. I was forced to vote when I was 18 by my father. But, I could not be forced to vote after leaving home and never again had I to visit that horrid polling booth. That is, until this year, when I decided I should do my duty and face up to my responsibilities or some such.

Anyway, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is nearly upon us and I am again getting that warm fuzzy feeling. I do not know if it is because the Olympics are being held here and that everything will roll on into my favourite, Tennis at Wimbledon.

So, in aid of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, London Transport will be selling 250,000 Oyster cards with the Queen’s image as a commemorative keepsake of the occasion. I am led to understand that there was one for the Royal Wedding last year, which I missed.

Nevertheless, I was keen and eager to get the Queen’s Oyster so I have that now.

In addition, there will be another version to commemorate the Olympic games which will go on Sale in June. So watch this space to see when I have purchased it so that you can run and get it too.

The Oyster cards operate in the same way as every other Oyster card. The cards cost £10 which is £5 for the Oyster card and £5 top-up. The Oyster cards can be bought in Travel Zone 1.

TFL London had this to say:

“Commemorative Oyster cards have been very popular with the travelling public in the past and we are delighted to be able to offer Londoners and visitors the chance to have a special memento of what will be a summer like no other.

“Transport will play a vital role in bringing people out to see The Queen during her Diamond Jubilee, and in getting people to all of the sporting and cultural events during the London 2012 Games and so it is fitting that we have limited edition Oyster cards that they can use and keep to mark these wonderful, once in a lifetime, occasions.”

The man of action James Bond, 007 ‘licence to kill’ returns to audiences in October. The new movie ‘Skyfall’… well, I cannot really say much about it as the trailer was not stunning in my opinion and it is not something I am in a burning passion to watch.

Unfortunately, with our new Bond, Daniel Craig – I wait for the movie to come to the TV as I am not a great fan of his and think Pierce Brosman was the image I pictured as a ‘Bond’. Nevertheless, Daniel is back and below is the trailer. Following which is video blog of the production – which I found much more interesting. I think that says it all.

Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg has wed his long time girlfriend one day after he floats his company in a busy week when Priscilla Chan, the aforementioned graduated from medical school and Zuckerberg’s 28th birthday.

We wish the happy couple all the best.
